Day 1:
Departure Flight.

Day 2: Toulouse
Arrive Toulouse airport, meet your Teach By Travel tour manager, and transfer to your hotel for check-in. After an orientation briefing, time to explore the old city. Its 2000-year-old history shows itself in an architecture of brick and tiles that is typical of the cities, villages and farms of the Midi-Pyrénées region. Reflections of the golden light on the brick of Toulouse have earned it the name of the ‘Ville Rose.’ See the Roman Amphitheatre of Purpan and the Basilica St-Sernin, a stop on the pilgrimage path to Compostella. Dinner and overnight in Toulouse.

Day 3: Carcassone
Depart Toulouse and stop in Cathar country to visit the ruins of Cathar Castle, erected on hilltops for defense during the Holy Inquisition of the Middle Ages. Stunning landscapes as you journey to the walled city of Carcassone and its medieval ambiance. Stroll the tiny streets and visit the fortified castle and basilica of this ancient city.

Day 4: Foix
Go back in time to the Holy Inquistion as you visit the impressive Cathares Castles - Queribus, Peyrepertuse, where you will see a show of birds of prey in the castle's ruins, Puylaurens, Puivert, Montsegur, and Roquefixade among others. Arrive in Foix, and visit the impressive Château de Foix. Time to shop the local markets before dinner and overnight in Foix.

Day 5: Cauterets
Drive along the Pyrénées on the route of Charlemagne to Tarbes, Lourdes, and Cauterets. Take a cable car up 7,500 feet for a breathtaking view of the mountains and Spanish crests. Overnight in Cauterets.

Day 6: Lourdes
Travel to Lourdes for a visit to the site where tens of thousands of Catholic pilgrims gather each year. See the Basilica of the Rosary, and the Grotto. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

Day 7: Biarritz
Drive west to Pau and the Cathedral de Lescar and Church of Morlass. Continue to Bayonne and its impressive cathedral. Arrive in Biarritz and transfer to your hotel for check-in. After an orientation briefing, a walking tour displays this small city designed by Princess Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III. View the unique architecture and the beautiful beaches overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 8: Biarritz - San Sebastián
Morning excursion to the Spanish border city of San Sebastián to see the neo-gothic Cathedral and the port. Proceed along the coast line to St Jean de Luz and its charming fishermen's harbor. After your coach climbs the foothills of the Pyrénées, board the train to reach the Col de la Rhune and a spectacular view over the Golfe de Gascogne. Return to Biarritz for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Biarritz - Paris
Transfer to the airport and fly to Paris for a guided city sightseeing tour. See the world famous symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe and more, ending with entrance to the Louvre. You may want to spend your free afternoon in the Louvre, or window shop along the Champs-Elysées. Special Farewell Dinner at the Eiffel Tower's Altitude 95 restaurant, for memorable views of the City of Lights, followed by a Seine River Cruise.

Day 10:
Return flight.
