Day 1:
Departure Flight.
Day 2: Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, meet your Teach By Travel tour manager and transfer to your hotel.
Day 3: Beijing
Full day guided tour of China's capital, Beijing. See Tian An Men Square, said to be the largest public square in the world. Visit the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and enjoy a lovely stroll along Lake Kunming. Special Dinner tonight - a fabulous Peking Duck Banquet!
Day 4: Beijing
Start your day with a hike along the Badaling Pass of the Great Wall of China, one of the seven great man-made wonders of the world. Included lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the historic Hutong and Alley of Beijing. Continue on a walking tour of the World Trade Street, then enjoy a showing of the "Legend of Kungfu." Dinner and overnight in Beijing.
Day 5: Beijing - Xian
Mornning visit to the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperor prayed for the harvest in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Walk along the New Qiamen Street and see the "Birds Nest," a stadium designed for the 2008 Olympics, and so-named because of its unique appearance, and the "Water Cube," Beijing's National Aquatic Center. Transfer to the airport and board a flight to Xian, starting point of the historic Silk Road. Stop at the Ancient City Wall, erected in the 14th century Ming Dynasty. Dinner and overnight in Xian.
Day 6: Xian
A day to enjoy Xian and its rich 5,000 year history. See one of China's greatest archeological discoveries, the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Tonight, a Special Imperial Dumpling Banquet, followed by the famous Tang Dynasty Stage Show.
Day 7: Xian - Shanghai
Before departing Xian, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Shanghai. After arrival in Shanghai, board a cruise on the Huangpu River, taking in the magnificent night scenery of Shanghai.
Day 8: Shanghai
Full day guided city tour of Shanghai starts with a visit to Shanghai Old Street. Take in the local scenery of bustling Nanjing Road, and travel along the famous Bund, a five-block long riverfront promenade. Enjoy an included traditional Mongolian Barbeque Buffet lunch, then visit the Shanghai Museum to see ancient Chinese art, furniture, and jade. Dinner on your own in Shanghai before your final overnight.
Day 9:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
