Day 1:
Departure Flight.

Day 2: Paris
Arrive Paris airport, greet your Teach By Travel tour manager, and transfer to your hotel. Orientation briefing by your tour manager to acquaint you with Paris. Dinner tonight at Chez Chartier for a typical Parisian meal, a mix of the 'Cuisine des Regions', served over two centuries in the French capital.

Day 3: Paris
Morning guided city tour of Paris. Discover the Champs Elysées, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and more, ending with an included visit to the Louvre. Free afternoon to visit Jardins des Tuileries, the Place de la Concorde, or the Impressionist Collection at the extrordinary Orsay Museum. Dinner at the famous 'Pain, Vin et Fromages' restaurant for a special menu and wine taste (bread, cheeses and wine).

Day 4: Paris - Vezelay
Your coach heads south to Burgundy and the Abbey of Fontenay, a pure example of Roman style, displaying the life of a monk community during the Middle Ages. Continue to Vezelay and the stunning Abbey of Vezelay, followed by dinner featuring foods of the Morvan region (duck, cheeses, beef "Charolais" and white wines). Dinner and overnight in Vezelay.

Day 5: Vezelay - Dijon
Continue your journey in the Burgundy region with a stop in charming Beaune and the magnificent Hospices de Beaune, once a hospital for the poor and now the location of the local vineyard auctions. Travel through the renowned hillsides of Aloxe Corton, Clos Vougeot, Vosne Romance, and Nuits St-Georges for a wine tasting. Visit the Abbey of Citeaux where monks still live and produce wine and cheese. Enjoy a typical Burgundy meal (snails, mushrooms, local mustard, wild chicken of Bresse). Overnight in Dijon.

Day 6: Dijon - Chamonix
Travel south in the direction of Macon, with a stop to see the Roman Church St. Philibert in Tournus, steeped in history and overlooking the Saone River. Continue through the Bresse to Geneva, where you have free time to view the stunning lake and have lunch (on your own). Pass the French border and continue to the lovely city of Chamonix at the foot of the Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. Typical Savoie meal tonight (fondue, raclette, mountain sausages, polenta, Reblochon, Tomme cheese). Overnight in Chamonix.

Day 7: Chamonix - Lyon
Stunning views of the Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi crossing the Glacier of the Valle Blanche from your cable car. Return to the valley and motor to Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy. Enjoy the breathtaking views of this 2,000 year old city from the Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere. Dinner tonight in the Old City, featuring vervelas, St-Marvellin cheese, andouillette, and rosette tablier de sapeur. Overnight in Lyon.

Day 8: Lyon - Arles
Notice the change in the landscapes as you depart Lyon and head south along the Rhone River. Arrive in Avignon, the Cite des Papes that housed the popes of the 14th century. Time to see the Palais des Papes before continuing to the Pont du Gard Acqueduct, a marvel of Roman engineering. Head south in Provence to see the beautiful Benedictine Abbey de Montmajour that inspired Van Gogh. Typical Provencial dinner tonight of bouillabaisse, aloli, tapendae, bourride, and fish soup. Overnight in Arles.

Day 9: Arles - Carcassone
Drive along the Mediterranean coast into the Languedoc Region to see Abbaye de Valmagne, a Benedictine Abbey with typical Provencial architecture and Roman-style red roof. Have a wine tasting to savor the warm south wines of Languedoc. On to the foothills of the Pyrenees and the medieval walled city of Carcassone. Dinner tonight features a local meal of aligot, cassoulet, fricasse de Limoux, boudin de l'Aude and goat cheeses. Overnight in Carcassone.

Day 10: Carcassone - Paris
Board a flight to Paris to enjoy leisure time before your Farewell Dinner at the Eiffel Tower's Altitude 95. Board a Seine River Cruise, followed by an Illumination Drive, to truly appreciate the City of Lights!

Day 11:
Return flight.
