Day 1:
Departure Flight.
Day 2: Barcelona
Arrive at Barcelona airport and meet your Teach by Travel tour manager. Transfer to your hotel for check-in, followed by an orientation briefing. Time to explore on your own before dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Barcelona
Morning guided city tour, including Parc Montjuic, City Hall, the Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter and more, concluding with entrance to Gaudi's Sagrada Familia. Free time to experience lively Las Ramblas boulevard, or eclectic Parc Guell.
Day 4: Barcelona - Sevilla
Morning transfer to the train station to board your train bound for Sevilla. Upon arrival, enjoy an included tapas lunch. After lunch, guided city sightseeing tour of Sevilla where you will see the ornate Cathedral, the Tower of Gold, Plaza de España and more.
Day 5: Sevilla - El Cortijo el Esparragal Excursion
Fascinating excursion to the working farm El Esparragal - from the ancient Tartessians to the Andalusians, El Esparragal has been inhabited by Romans, Visigoths, Muslims and Christians. Ancient ruins, baths, and woodlands reveal how each civilization inhabited and worked the land. Enjoy an included lunch before returning to Sevilla for your private flamenco dance lessons! Learn the drama and passion of this famous Spanish dance, followed by a Flamenco Performance.
Day 6: Sevilla - Madrid
Depart Sevilla, transfer to the train station, and board your train to Madrid. Upon arrival, guided city sightseeing tour of Madrid, where you will see the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Cervantes Memorial, and more, including entrance to the Prado, where you will view masterpieces by Velazquez, El Greco and Goya, among others. Dinner and overnight in Madrid.
Day 7: Madrid - Segovia
Board your coach for your excursion to Segovia to see the architectural marvel of the Roman Aqueduct, the castle-palace of Alcázar, and the 16th- century Cathedral. Special included lunch today at the famous Meson de Candido. Return to Madrid for free time to enjoy Retiro Park, the Botanical Gardens, or explore on your own. Dinner and overnight in Madrid.
Day 8: Madrid
Morning excursion to the Royal Palace for a look at Spanish royal life. Enjoy your last day in Madrid as you please - visit the National Museum, the Queen Sofia Art Center, or the Royal Tapestry Factory. Try the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts, shop for souvenirs, or take in the lively scene at Plaza Mayor. Dinner and overnight in Madrid.
Day 9:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
