Day 1:
Departure Flight.
Day 2: Killarney
Arrive Shannon airport, meet your Teach By Travel tour manager, and board your motorcoach. Proceed to Bunratty Castle, the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. Built in 1425 and restored in 1954 to its former medieval splendour, it now contains mainly 15th and 16th century furnishings, tapestries, and works of art which capture the mood of those times. Time to enjoy Bunratty Folk Park, where 19th century life is vividly recreated. Continue to Killarney for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Killarney
Unforgettable scenes today as you travel to the Ring of Kerry, part of the mystical and unspoilt region of Ireland, with its amazing insight into the ancient heritage of Ireland - see the Iron Age Forts and Ogham Stones, Old Monasteries and a landscape carved out of rock by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. Return to Killarney for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Waterford
Board your coach to enjoy gorgeous rolling hills and lush green valleys as you journey to the medieval stronghold of Blarney, Blarney Castle. Don't forget to kiss the Blarney Stone and receive the gift of eloquence! Continue to Cobh and a visit to the Heritage Centre. The Cobh Heritage Centre provides information on life in Ireland through the 18th and 19th centuries, chronicles the story of Irish emigration, and more. Continue on to Waterford for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Waterford
Time to enjoy Waterford before transferring to Dunbrody Famine Ship, a "visitor experience" which provides a unique insight into a period of history which shaped modern day Ireland and America, the Irish emigration story. Return to Waterford for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Dublin
Travel to Dublin with a stop in Kilkenny, known as the medieval capital of Ireland, a city steeped in history and bearing the marks of Celtic, Viking, Norman and English invaders. A market town since at least the fourth century Kilkenny features Kilkenny Castle, Black Abbey, St. Mary's Cathedral, Kilkenny Town Hall, Grace's Castle, and St. John's Priory, craft and design workshops, and the lovely public gardens. Proceed to Dublin for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Dublin
Afternoon guided city sightseeing tour, including a visit to Trinity College, established in 1592, and one of Europe’s oldest universities. Celebrate Irish spirit with an included evening cabaret!
Day 8: Belfast - Newgrange
Depart Dublin and stop at Newgrange and Boyne Valley for a tour of Megalithic Passage Tombs, built by Neolithic farming communities about 5,000 years ago, making them older than the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt! Continue to Belfast for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Belfast
Morning guided city sightseeing tour of Belfast, including the Titanic Dock and Pump Room tour. Free time in Belfast before dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Ballina
Morning visit to Ulster-American Folk Park, an open-air museum which explores the historical link between Ulster and America. On to Sligo, inspiration for poet WB Yeats, who is buried at Drumcliffe Churchyard. The lakes of Sligo, with their still waters and wooded islands, are truly spectacular, and form a striking contrast to the county's rugged uplands. Continue to Ballina.
Day 11: Hidden Ireland Excursion
Leave Ballina for an included excursion into the region often referred to as "Hidden Ireland". Ireland's highest cliffs, most dramatic landscapes and mystical history are represented in one of Ireland's most beautiful and unspoiled counties. Return to Ballina for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Galway - Connemara
Journey to spectacular Connemara National Park, dominated by the majestic Twelve Bens mountain range, dotted with lakes, and fringed by the deeply indented Atlantic coastline, inspiring many famous paintings and literary figures over the years. Dinner and overnight in Galway.
Day 13: Galway - Aran Islands
Travel to Rossaveal for a journey to the magical Aran Islands in Galway Bay. Dinner and overnight in Galway.
Day 14:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
