Day 1:
Departure Flight.
Day 2: Paris
Arrive at Paris airport, meet your Teach by Travel tour manager, and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Orientation briefing, followed by free time to explore on your own, before dinner and overnight in Paris.
Day 3: Paris
Enjoy a guided city tour of the French capital, including the Champs-Elysées, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Concorde, and more, ending with entrance to the Louvre, to view famous works of art. Free time to remain in the Louvre, or stroll through the lively Latin Quarter, view the work of Impressionist masters at the Orsay Museum, discover the beauty of the nearby Jardins des Tulleries, or climb the steps to Sacre Coeur and Montmartre for spectacular views of the city.
Day 4: Paris - Lyon
Board your coach, transfer to the Gare de Lyon railway station, and board the TGV. Travel at a speed of 200 mph, and arrive in Lyon in 2 hours! Afternoon excursion to discover the beauty and rich landscapes of Southern Beaujolais. The yellow ochre color of the Golden Stone villages has earned the name of "Beaujolais' Tuscany." Stop at the medieval village of Oingst, one of the most beautiful villages in France. See Salles Arbuissonnas' 12th century cloister, and Vaux en Beaujolais, a typical village where the best selling author Gabriel Chevallier wrote 'Clochemerle', his colorful novel. Also, enjoy a wine tasting before returning to Lyon for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Lyon
Guided tour of Lyon, one of the most beautiful Renaissance towns of Europe - immaculately preserved houses and shops line quaint cobbled streets, retaining much of the atmosphere of past centuries. Dinner and overnight in Lyon.
Day 6: Lyon - Avignon
Your coach follows the Rhone River to arrive in Avignon, Provence. Visit the amazing Roman Aqueduct, the Pont du Gard, built 2,000 years ago. Return to Avignon for a fascinating walking tour of this Middle-Age walled city. Free time to visit the Palais des Papes, which housed seven Popes during the 14th century. Dinner and overnight in Avignon.
Day 7: Avignon - Nice
Depart Lyon and travel south to Aix en Provence, for a visit to the Atelier of the famous Impressionist painter Cezanne. Free time to stroll the animated center of Aix en Provence before continuing to the Montagne Ste Victoire, the subject of many Impressionist painters, such as Van Gogh and Cezanne, who could see the vast mountain from his house! Relax and enjoy the scenery as you continue crossing the Var forests and hills to arrive in the Côte d'Azur. Dinner and overnight in Nice.
Day 8: Nice
Get to know Nice this morning on your included walking tour, featuring the port, the flower market, the Promenade des Anglais and more. Enjoy an excursion to Monaco - your coach takes hair-pin turns and climbs winding mountain roads to reach the jet-set city of Monte Carlo, with its castle and the famous harbour. Time to wander around Monte Carlo, before continuing on to the cliff-top village of Eze, for a breath-taking view of the Côte d'Azur. Visit a perfume factory for a fascinating look at perfume production, before returning to Nice for dinner and overnight.
Day 9:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
