Day 1: Flight/San José
Departure Flight. Arrive San José, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Time to relax and unpack before dinner and overnight in San José.

Day 2: Tortuguero
Start your adventure with an early morning pick up in San José. Absorb the natural beauty of Costa Rica as you travel on a guided tour from the city into the Braulio Carrillo National Park and through the agricultural versatility of the Limon lowlands, including pineapples, rice, cattle, and a tour of a working banana plantation. Experience a typical Costa Rican breakfast along the way. Arrive at the port and transfer to the Turtle boat. Enjoy a scenic ride on the Tortuguero River and the Tortuguero National Park canals as you voyage to your lodge. Dinner and overnight in Tortuguero.

Day 3: Tortuguero
Join the guided Canal Tour and experience the awakening of the jungle surrounding the canals as the animals start their day. Replenish with a healthy, typical Tico breakfast. Put on your jungle boots provided by TBT and explore the mysterious Tortuguero Jungle with your guide! Learn about the jungle flora and fauna as well as the animals that live in the tropical rain forest.

Day 4: Arenal
Today you will be transferred to the Arenal Area, famous for its active Arenal Volcano. After checking in at the hotel, you will go straight to the Springs Resort, a wonderful Hot Springs Resort. Enjoy the relaxing thermal waters and a delicious dinner.

Day 5: Arenal
Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike along the base of this marvelous “Mountain of Fire”. In the afternoon: Horseback Riding to la Fortuna Waterfalls. At the base of the waterfall there is a “natural pool” where you can swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river for about one hour.

Day 6: Monteverde Cloud Forest
Today you will be transferred to the beautiful Monteverde area, famous for its Cloud Forest, nestled high in the Tilaran Mountain Range. This 26,000 acre private reserve is home to myriad plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and over 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight in Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Day 7: Monteverde Cloud Forest
Your day starts with a short, guided hike through the private 70-acre reserve of the Cloud Forest. The first part of the tour will take you through primary (old growth) and secondary (new growth) forest. As you zipline through the treetops listen closely for the vast variety of birds that can be seen and heard throughout the preserve. Then, just when you think you have become one with the canopy we get your blood pumping with a drop back down to the forest floor. From the ground you leave again for the cloud forest canopy and the tour ends with an exhilarating rappel down from “Scary Tree”. The name of this last tree says it all!Dinner and overnight in Monteverde.

Day 8:
Transfer to San José airport for your return flight.
