Teach By Travel - Barcelona and Rome - Country Combination Tours


Day 1:
Departure Flight.

Day 2: Barcelona
Arrive in Barcelona, meet your Teach By Travel tour manager, and transfer to your hotel. After an orientation briefing, free time to explore on your own before dinner and overnight in Barcelona.

Day 3: Barcelona
Morning guided city sightseeing tour of the Catalonian capital, Barcelona. See the Gothic Quarter, the Olympic Ring, Las Ramblas and more, including Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece of Art Nouveau architecture. Free time to visit the Picasso Museum, walk along the Puerto Olimpico, or visit Gaudi's Parc Guell for a most interesting view of scultptures and mosaics.

Day 4: Barcelona
A free day to explore this eclectic city, or take an optional excursion to Montserrat. Climb winding mountain roads on your guided tour of Montserrat, featuring the Black Madonna and Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Barcelona.

Day 5: Barcelona - Rome
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Rome. Arrive in the Eternal City and check in to your hotel. Free time to walk to the Spanish Steps for views of daily life in Rome, or toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 6: Rome
Morning guided city sightseeing tour of the Eternal City. See the Pantheon, St. Peter in Chains, the Colosseum and more, including the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. This evening, enjoy your "Rome by Night" tour - see spectacular Rome with a guided Illumination Tour, followed by dinner.

Day 7: Rome
A free day in Rome to fulfill your personal sightseeing plans, or do as the ancient Romans did, and travel east of Rome to the retreat of Tivoli and Hadrian's Villa, with its gardens, temples, baths and lakes. Return to Rome for dinner and overnight. You can also take an optional excursion to the archaeological site of Ostia Antica, which in ancient times was situated at the mouth of the Tiber River and was an important harbor. See the impressive amphitheater, built in 12 B.C. and many other well preserved ruins and frescoes. Return to Rome for dinner and overnight.

Day 8:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
