Teach By Travel - The North of Spain - Spain
Day 1:
Departure Flight.
Day 2: Barcelona
Arrive at Barcelona airport, and meet your Teach By Travel tour manager. Transfer to your hotel for check-in, followed by an orientation briefing. Time to explore on your own before dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Barcelona
Morning guided city tour, including Parc Montjuic, City Hall, the Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter and more, concluding with Gaudi's Sagrada Familia. Free time to experience lively Las Ramblas, or eclectic Parc Guell.
Day 4: Barcelona - San Sebastian
Depart Barcelona and journey to Zaragoza, which dates back to 14BC when the Romans established a settlement on the banks of the River Ebro. Many ruins of Roman origin can be seen in the city. Highlights of your orientation tour include the Basilica del Pilar, La Seo Cathdral, and the Aljaferia Palace. Continue to the university city of San Sebastian for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: San Sebastian - Biarritz - Bilbao
Morning walking tour of San Sebastian, with its blend of cosmopolitan style and old-world ambience. See the neo-gothic Cathedral and the port before transferring to Biarritz, the city designed by Princess Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III. View the unique architecture and the beautiful beaches overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Proceed to Bilbao for overnight.
Day 6: Bilbao
Guided tour of coastal Bilbao this morning, concluding with entrance to the impressive Guggenheim Museum Bilboa, which features permanent and visiting exhibits of works by Spanish and international artists including Dali and Picasso. Time to stroll along walkways that parallel the river, or explore the Old Town, where you'll discover Gothic churches, and beautiful plazas. Dinner and overnight in Bilbao.
Day 7: Bilbao - Valladolid - Segovia
Depart Bilbao and travel to Valladolid for a walking tour of this former residence of Spanish kings and renowned artists. Board your coach and continue to Segovia for a guided tour including the architectural wonder of the Roman Aqueduct, the Alcazar, and the 16th-century Cathdral. Time to stroll the cobbled streets before dinner and overnight in Segovia.
Day 8: Segovia - Madrid
Morning departure from Segovia and a short transfer to Madrid. Guided city sightseeing tour of Madrid, including Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and much more, concluding with entrance to the world-famous Prado Museum, where you will view masterpieces by El Greco and others. Free time to enjoy Retiro Park, or visit the National Museum.
Day 9: Madrid
A free day in Madrid! You may want to visit the Reina Sofia Museum, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy the Botanical Gardens. Included Flamenco performance with dinner before your final overnight in Madrid.
Day 10:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
